This policy explains what information On the Chew ("the app", "we") collects, why, and how you can have it removed. On the Chew is developed by TechBooster Pty Ltd.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, and your display name if you set one (via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password).
• Content you share — catches, posts, gear/tip posts, videos, comments, fishing spots, and messages you post or send within the app, including any photos or videos you attach.
• Location — with your permission, your device's precise location, used to show nearby weather/tide conditions and to let you tag where you fished. You can deny this and still use the weather dashboard for a manually chosen location.
• Usage data — basic app activity (e.g. push notification tokens) needed to make notifications and messaging work.

How we use it

We use this information solely to operate the app: to show you weather/tide conditions, to display your posts and catches to the community (per your own sharing choices), to power direct messages and notifications, and to enforce blocking/reporting for safety. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

Content you choose to post publicly (catches, posts, comments, spots marked public) is visible to other users of the app, as expected of a social/community feature. We use Supabase (database/authentication) and Resend (transactional email) as infrastructure providers to operate the app; neither uses your data for their own purposes.

Your choices

• You can block other users and report content at any time from within the app.
• You can edit or delete your own posts, catches, and messages at any time.
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This is a real, permanent deletion — not deactivation — and cannot be undone.

Children

On the Chew is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
